We have two upcoming demonstration events which we are excited about! The first one is the Opening Ceremony for the Northern California Chinese Culture Athletic Federation competition on August 11 at 4:00 pm at James Logan High School in Union City. The program will feature 100 people demonstrating Tai Chi for the 100 year anniversary of the Olympic Games. Master Li will be the torch-bearer, opening the celebration along with several Olympic Gold Medalists. We need all the help we can get to get at least 100 people to participate in the Tai Chi demonstrations, so we would very much like you to participate! On Sunday, July 29 from 11:00am to 1:00pm we will have a practice session at Li's Wushu Academy . We will be demonstrating Chen Tai Chi Old Form, 24 Yang Style Tai Chi, and 42 Tai Chi Sword. If you have children or friends who would like to participate, we need flag-bearers and no experience is necessary. The dress code will be the school's black cotton uniform. Flag-bearers will be given red or white school logo T-shirts to wear. Please confirm your attendance with me this week during your regular class time. The Moon Festival is an important Chinese family cultural celebration. This year students from our academy are the organizers of all the Moon Festival events in Cupertino 's Memorial Park on September 29 and 30. We are planning to have two dragon teams, as well as a large Tai Chi group demonstration . We are hoping to have 150 to 200 people from our school participate, especially since this is the Moon Festival and a good chance to get the family together to celebrate and see Chinese traditional arts demonstrated. The dress code will be the same as above. I will let you know at a later date exactly what time we will meet at the festival and also when we will practice. The dragon team will need additional practice, so if you are interested, please confirm with me as soon as possible during your regular class time. |
